What drives gold this week
Gold takes its cue from three places — the COMEX GC front-month tape (above), real 10-year yields (the primary macro lever), and WGC ETF flow trend (structural investor demand). Nothing is stretched today; the market is quiet.
The next scheduled print is LBMA PM Gold Fix in 3 days. FOMC rate decisions and US CPI (~2nd Wednesday) are the two macro prints that move gold hardest; LBMA PM fix (daily 10am ET) is the physical reference; WGC Monthly ETF Flows (~25th) tracks structural demand.
Latest release readings
LBMA PM gold fix (daily, London 3pm reference), CFTC positioning (weekly), WGC gold ETF flows (weekly, 1wk + 4wk rolling), and WGC quarterly demand trends (total tonnes + USD-billions value). ETF flows are the structural demand signal; demand trends the macro signal.
